Dallas Tour at Lantana Golf Club for St Patrick's Day

Scott R Chilcutt, Lantana, TX (March 17, 2014)  When most of the U.S. defaulted to the weekend for St. Patrick's day celebrations, tour players took advantage of the special Monday and took to the links for the St Patty's Day Challenge at Lantana.   Lantana Golf Club, a private golf club and the first on a six event schedule of the Dominion Golf Group properties on the Dallas and Hill Country Tours.

Much needed rains, 1.5"+, Saturday made it a challenge for the staff to prepare the heavily bunker-ed Jay and Carter Morrish layout and did a wonderful job to make it fair and playable.  While the cart path only issues created more work for the players, the soaking of the greens certainly helped soften the scores.   Five first time winners emerged, in the eight flights contested on the day.

Scott Ingerson of Mustang, OK edged out three players tied for second to pick up the Tournament Champion Trophy, presented by Carlisle's Engraving.

Championship Flight:   Olive Branch, MS traveler Marcus House went one under on the back nine with a birdie on the par 5 - 13th to force extra holes with Dan Dickens of Coppell, TX.  Dickens with three birdies of his own on the day, added another on the first hole of the playoff for his first win on tour.
