A Test of Patience!
Scott R Chilcutt, Fort Worth, TX (March 26, 2011) Nestled between Texas Motor Speedway and Alliance Airport, The Golf Club at Champions Circle would get the best of many. Or was it the ever changing gusting winds? Or was it the road closures and construction on 114, a route that many east of the course would have to take? In the end it took two flight playoffs and eleven flight champions were awarded with over a third of the 92 that took to the course carried home gift cards for the effort.
Just a few short weeks earlier, Sanger, TX Steve Killion had asked about a potential flight change. While the trend was looking like he may qualify for the move any idea of that happening was erased with a season low round, 80 taking the Tournament Champion Trophy.

Results:
Championship Flight: 20 year old Enrique Fuhlage from Dallas picked up his first Am Tour win bookending his round with birdies on 1 and 18, with another on the tough par 3-15th. The birdie on the 18th would be the deciding factor as he finished one stroke ahead of 2nd place finisher, Southlake's Justin Lee. Kevin Williams from Odessa would finish two strokes back from Lee after making a charge with a back nine two over par.
Palmer Flight: Garland, TX Michael Edwards picked up his 2nd win of the season over current points leader Ivan Zweig from Dallas by 3 strokes. Zweig, with a messy scorecard over the first 11 holes, made a comeback going even par over the final 7 holes but wasn't able to catch Edwards. With a 1st, 2nd and now 3rd place finish this year, Lewisville's Randy Sellers would have to settle for the show spot.
Senior Palmer Flight: Michael Morgan from Shreveport, LA took home the top honors firing a 6 over par 78 with 3 birdies and 11 pars along the way. California transplant Bob Vesely would finish 2nd, two strokes back in his first tournament with the Dallas Tour. Fort Worth's, Larry Huppert to the final podium finish with a birdie on the 18th hole.
Hogan Flight: In our first Hogan pairing of the day, Flower Mound's Mony Fisher and Brack Blackwood from Grandbury would have to wait for the 16 player field to finish before heading back to the 1st tee for our first playoff of the day. Both players finished with birdies to stay tied at 78 and Fisher would go on win the 1st playoff hole to take his first win since last October. In his first event on the tour newcomer, Wade Shaw from Kauffman would also birdie the 18th hole to stay clear of 4th place by one stroke.
Senior Hogan Flight: Points leader, Alto's Nicky Baugh would take the first win of his Am Tour career by one stroke over Stephen Hozie from Plano. Abilene traveler, Ed Dye finished in the 3rd spot.
Sarazen Flight: Bedford's, George Peddy parred the final two holes to force a three way playoff with Richard Marr from The Colony and John Morrissey from Dallas. Morrissey fearing return delays on Highway 114, left the other two to have it out. Peddy prevailed on the 1st playoff hole to take his second win of the season. Gabriel Briscoe of Mesquite finished in 4th only one stroke back.
Senior Sarazen Flight: In his first win on the AM Tour, Sanger, TX Steve Killion did it in a big way finishing the back nine in 3 over par and winning the flight by 10 strokes over Bob Moreau from Plano. Red Oak's David McCasland rounded out the top three.
Jones Flight: Lewisville's Shawn Whitaker birided the 9th and 18th holes but it wasn't enough to force a playoff with two time 2011 winner Ricky Gates from Arlington who took the trophy by a stroke. First time player Bob Holmok from Coffeeville finished in third.
Senior Jones Flight: With an eagle on the 18th after birdieing the 17th hole Lantana, TX, Barry Gray grabs his 3rd win of the 2011 points season by 5 strokes over Bob Eustice of Garland. Eustice was one of the many players caught up in 114 traffic, started off a little ragged but finished with a birdie on the final hole to stay ahead of Ron Hardy from Lewisville.
Snead Flight: New member Kevin Cunningham from Little Elm, TX shot an 88 to take home his first tournament win over 2011 Major winners Nick Easen (Texas Open) from Keller and Frisco's Lale Esquivel (Winter Championship).
Senior Snead Flight: Arkansas Tour player, Pat Cashin from Dora, MO took home the hardware firing a 93 staying clear of Fort Worth's Douglas Pritchett. Three time 2011 winner, Gary Meyers finished in the 3rd spot.
