Tournament Recap - Grand Prairie Classic
Scott R Chilcutt, Grand Prairie, TX (February 19, 2011) Just 15 days removed from ice and snow storms that snarled Super Bowl XLV festivities, 89 players teed it up for the first time on the DFW Tour in 2011 just 20 minutes southeast of Cowboy Stadium at Tangle Ridge Golf Club.
With a solid week of warming temperatures, sun and wind the greens were fast, while the fairways didn’t roll out like expected due to extensive watering after recent fertilizing. Compounding the difficulties, the wind, overcast skies and humidity made with the soft fairways a true challenge.
When the sun went down over 40 players took home the prize pool of trophies, Golf Galaxy gift cards and gift certificates.
Next up – Texas Open @ Horseshoe Bay on March 5th and 6th and then we return to our local DFW schedule on March 13th with the Coyote Ridge Challenge.

Schedule - Members - Duel in the Desert -
Scott R Chilcutt, DFW Tour (February 1, 2011) Many of you may have noticed the absence of an April 9th tournament date that was previously displayed with a TBA. Aerifcation and greens maintenance! While we had 3 or 4 courses that we wanted to try and fill the spot with they all have greens maintenance going on within weeks and frankly we just don't want to risk putting our players out on sand and bumps. That's one of the first questions we ask when we speak to a course about a date and although some maintenance will come up later in the year we want to make sure that we work around those scheduled dates. So to make a long story short, we will probably not be replacing that date.
